Of course you are already saying to yourself surely she meant “DEEP” sea fishing, but you would in fact be wrong! The founding broker of National Colony Realty arrived in the Turks and Caicos Islands in 1966 with several of the islands original developers and formed Provident Ltd. which in turn lead to the birth of our company, but I digress, so back to the story.
On the way from Florida with their boat (aptly named The Seven Dwarfs) carrying basic supplies, they decided to ship along an old US Mail Jeep strapped to the deck in order to have transport on island now that they had carved a path or two through the bushes to drive on. Well, since the passage was taking longer than he would have liked and he was getting bored, he decided that since the boat was crawling along at what today would be termed trolling speed, he perched himself in the seat of the jeep and threw a fishing line into the ocean (and of course caught a fish) hence, what he calls “JEEP” sea fishing.
Seriously, if fishing is your sport of choice when visiting Turks and Caicos, look for one of the many modern day deep sea fishing charters in the Where When How magazine for rates and ideas.
